From 15th – 17th December, 2021 at Hanoi International Exhibition Center ‒ I.C.E Hanoi

Hanoi, October 10th, 2021

PRESS RELEASE NO.02

At VIMEXPO 2021, from 2D online booths to online business matching program, all have been proactively implemented by the Organizing Board since the outbreak of the pandemic in order to ensure that cross-border trading needs and activities are not interrupted. At the same time, “remote booth” model will be the most suitable choice for foreign partners and enterprises that cannot directly come to Vietnam to attend VIMEXPO this time.

Due to the fact that supporting industry is not yet developed, Vietnam’s processing and manufacturing industries are heavily dependent on the supply of imported input materials and components – especially key industries such as mechanical fabrication; automobile manufacturing and assembling; electronics; high-tech industry; textile – footwear, etc. Therefore, when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in countries supplying major accessories and components for production to Vietnam such as China, Korea, Japan, etc., domestic industries have faced enormous difficulties in securing input factors for production. Not until the above countries pass the peak of the pandemic does the supply of imported raw materials for Vietnam’s manufacturing industries recover. This situation will not only affect production development and economic growth in the short term but also continue to exert an impact on the industry in particular and Vietnam’s economy in general in the long term in the context of increased international integration. Therefore, supporting industry development and step-by-step self-sufficiency in domestic raw materials, components are one of the core elements for the sustainable development of Vietnamese industry in the long term.

Under the Supporting Industry Development Program in 2021 approved by the Prime Minister, The 2nd Vietnam International Supporting Industry and Manufacturing Exhibition – VIMEXPO 2021, directed by Ministry of Industry and Trade, hosted by Industrial Development Center – Vietnam Industry Agency – Ministry of Industry and Trade, organized by C.I.S Vietnam Advertising & Exhibition JSC., will take place from December 15th to 17th, 2021 at Hanoi International Exhibition Center – I.C.E Hanoi in an exhibition space of 7,000 square meters with about 250 booths of over 200 domestic and international exhibitors. The event will be an extremely pivotal connecting point, which continues to contribute to realizing the goal of increasing the production capacity of supporting industry enterprises, ensuring the sources of raw materials, components and enhancing the added value for domestic products.

In order to adapt to the difficulties and disadvantages caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Organizing Board of VIMEXPO 2021 has proactively applied technology and duly diversified forms of trade promotion. In addition to traditional physical booths, for the first time 2D online booths have been introduced, arranged on an e-commerce site (without the functions of purchasing and selling), with company name, logo, images, documents, videos introducing products or services, increasing the ability to introduce and connect products, etc. At VIMEXPO 2021, while the offline exhibition only takes place for 3 days, on 2D online booths, information of the exhibitors will be stored for 12 months. Enterprises can update information by themselves, live stream, live chat and do business matching during this time. Customers only need to access the website and register in a few simple steps, then they can experience all activities at the exhibition anytime, anywhere, on any smart device.

Besides the two options mentioned above, VIMEXPO 2021 also offers “remote booths”. The “remote booth” is simply understood as providing a trading space with “no distance”, where transactions are still connected and the product experience is complete. This method will eliminate the “boundary” that virtual exhibition and pure online business matching cannot optimize. In particular, at remote booths, visitors will still be able to experience displayed products and transact with the exhibitor’s representative through an online application with support from an on-site interpreter.

One of the grounds for the Organizing Board of VIMEXPO 2021 to implement numerous exhibition forms is the profound insight about the market when the development of COVID-19 pandemic is still unpredictable, cross-border travelling has been delayed, but the demand for market expansion is still urgent, in order to provide a variety of options to attend the exhibition while ensuring pandemic prevention for partners, businesses, especially units that cannot come to Vietnam, helping to remove spatial barriers, creating conditions for enterprises to do cross-border business matching extremely flexibly.
